The 9 Most Gloriously Ridiculous Men’s Rights Memes of 2015

Apparently, feminists are zombies who need to be fought off with baseball bats.
Apparently, feminists are zombies who need to be fought off with baseball bats.

Yep, I’m still doing the 2015 retrospectives. I know that it’s now 2016. But hey, I did more than 500 posts in 2015, and there is so much ridiculousness in them I want to share with you all.

So let’s usher in 2016 with a look back at The 9 Most Gloriously Ridiculous Men’s Rights Memes of 2015, starting with two contributions from “Ian Ironwood,” an MRA whose opinions are as retro as the graphics he uses. That’s one of his above. But his most charmingly befuddling meme is probably this one:

“No vagina on the planet will give you superpowers!”

Wait, what?
Wait, what?

And you can find many equally baffling memes from him in this post of mine.

Now We Really Are Only After One Thing — Putting Our Penises in Vagina Dentatas

Yep, those are teeth.
Yep, those are teeth.

If I understand Mr. Galt’s logic here, feminism makes women so awful that men are no longer interested in anything about women except for their vaginas. Their TOOTH-FILLED VAGINAS.

You can find more weirdly sexualized memes from Mr. Galt and others in my post Someone could probably write a Master’s thesis about the sexual insecurities on display in A Voice for Men’s “memes.” (Seriously, someone could.)

Beware the Straw Feminist Finger Choppers!

shears

I guess we have to give the MRAs credit for having vivid imaginations, at least. For more bizarre straw feminists oppressing men in stock photos, see my post “The right to kill, maim, and berate husbands,” and other Straw Feminist demands.

Violence Against Women is Like Stealing a Red Car. It Can’t Be Done!

stealcar

Yeah, it doesn’t make much sense to me either. This is but one of a number of exceedingly perplexing AVFM memes I discuss here.

Saying She’s Not a Real Feminist is Like Playing Russian Roulette

Uh, what?
Uh, what?

Yet another head-scratcher of a meme, this one found on Twitter.

Uh, is that … Pink?

Wait, what?
Wait, what?

As one AVFM meme-maker sees it, the idea of equal pay for equal work is basically like Pink — the singer, not the color — if she were a zombie. I try to make sense of this one here.

“Teach Drivers Not to Hit People”

feministlogic

This meme, which can be found all over the manosphere in assorted variants, is intended as a sarcastic rebuttal of feminist anti-rape campaigns that center around teaching boys and young men what rape is and why they shouldn’t do it. The MRAs are apparently unaware that such programs, done correctly, actually have been shown to reduce rape.

What’s even stranger is that MRAs also seem unaware that WE DO IN FACT TEACH DRIVERS NOT TO HIT PEOPLE. You know, in DRIVER’S ED. (And if that doesn’t stick, in traffic school later.) Indeed, as apparently everyone but MRAs is aware, would-be drivers have to pass a driving test to prove that, if given a license, they won’t go around plowing their car into trees, other cars and, oh yeah, pedestrians.

More examples of this weird meme can be found in my post The MRA Meme That Would Not Die: “Teaching men not to rape is like teaching drivers not to run people over!”

Feminism’s Death Spiral

feminismdeathspiral

This infographic was so perplexing that the dude behind it — Nick Reading of Men’s Rights Edmonton — made an entire video trying to explain it. For some reason he decided to do the whole thing holding a hunting knife. MRAs really can’t do anything without making it creepy, huh? See my discussion of the graphic, the video, the knife, and Nick’s facial hair here.

So there you have it, The 9 Most Gloriously Ridiculous Men’s Rights Memes of 2015. Did I miss any of your favorites?

Oh, and if you noticed a distinct lack of references to “cucks,” Jews, and Donald Trump, don’t worry! I’ll be looking at the Year in Imaginary White Genocide in a future post!

That zombie feminist is quite a bit of win in showing the way they see the world. A perfectly reasonable request makes you a brain eating undead monster.
How many times do you see them say stuff like “feminists are screeching and frothing at the mouth”. Like, I’ve never seen a feminist do that. To be honest I’ve never seen anyone do that. Are MRA types walking around with some special glasses on like in ‘They Live’, allowing them to see the true zombified, froth-mouthed form of every feminist? And how do slogans like ‘Equal pay for equal work’ read to them with those special specs? ‘Eat manbrainz’?

To them women dont work as hard as men so they get paid less. So it’s their fault for choosing those jobs and choosing certain classes in school but it’s feminism’s fault for men dying in jobs like mining, etc and not doing good in school.

Hmm I don’t think it’s a good idea to eat manospherian brains you might become even dumber and who knows what else.

Also white people get paid more than people of color and disabled people get paid even less.

You are not alone. Especially because, much as I loathe Dawkins, I really like the theory of memetics as a means of explaining how ideas spread and change, and it’s a shame that the word has come to mean “propaganda poster.”

I’d half expect them to complain about ‘false pedestrian-hit-by-car accusations’

(TW for sarcastic car accident apologia)

Well what did you expect: dressed like that, you were obviously just asking to be hit by a car! You probably enjoyed getting hit by a car but then just regretted it later! Won’t anyone think of the poor car drivers who are accused of hitting pedestrians? They face a suffering far greater than those hit by cars.

/s

Speaking as a feminist who was also struck and nearly killed by a car at 14, I never miss an opportunity to school those who forgot the part of their own driver training about not fucking hitting people with your fucking car. (Which, in my own case, happened when some fool pulled out to pass a stopping schoolbus when he should have stayed behind it, as the law requires all drivers behind a schoolbus to do.)

Also, I stole that Roosh-Dog meme. It could come in most handy someday, for my weekly wankapedia!

And in addition, I am bewildered by the “superpower vagina” one. Not only is the picture poorly ‘shopped (and very pixelly), the words also don’t make sense. When did any woman, anywhere, ever promise to endow a man with superpowers through her vagina?

Once more, the projection is strong with these dim-witted bastards.

Oh, and LOL @ the vagina dentata one. Now they really ARE after only one thing…and bitter as hell that they can’t get even that, because their foul attitude drives vagina-bearers (and all other people as well) away. Poor widdle Menzers! Keep making your own beds and lying in them, suckers. The rejections will continue until your attitudes improve.

Here’s what I don’t get about the “vagina = superpowers” thing:

I’ve never met anyone outside of the manosphere who thinks that women are promising superpowers with their vaginas. Never. I’ve been alive for 25 years and have never met anyone that has said that. Granted, that’s a tiny sample size, but if it’s as prevalent as the manosphere claims it is (as in every cis woman is promising men superpowers), you’d think I’d have met one by now, or hell, become one myself.

In fact, I’d argue that cis men are the ones perpetuating that idea. Not because some wily feeemale promised them to him, but because toxic masculinity says “The more women you fuck, the better you are than other men!”

And of course, manospherians have swallowed this wholesale. Critical thinkers, my left foot.

Yeah I’m familiar with the MRA mantra about women at work. It’s just that the slogan is “Equal pay for equal work.” You’d think they’d agree.

About that one with the red car (not sure if it was discussed in the comments on the original post): I think they’re borrowing a bit of logic from the anti-gun-control people.

The argument as it pertains to guns is something like this: when people discuss violence, they don’t generally categorize it with the particular implements used to commit said violence. Like, if someone smothers someone with a pillow, we don’t talk about it as “pillow violence;” when someone knocks someone on the head with a paperweight, we don’t call it “paperweight violence;” etc. So, the argument goes: why do we talk about “gun violence” other than to try and demonize guns/gun owners? Why not just talk about violence in general?

So the red car thing is applying the same logic to the concept of violence against women: in the same way that we don’t categorize car theft with the color of the car (“red car theft,” “blue car theft,” “black car theft”) we also shouldn’t categorize violence against people by referring to the gender of the person. So, with that in mind, there wouldn’t be “violence against women,” just “violence.”

Honestly, both of these arguments feel so transparently stupid to me that I feel silly even typing them out like that… In both cases it’s a way to try and obfuscate an obvious problem by trying to get people to utilize more-vague, less-useful language. Basically, it’s a plea for more stupidity.

@Mike
That’s exactly it. They don’t want critical discussion of violence against women so they try to muddy the waters. It’s highly important to specify types of violence because most of the motives behind assaults/murders are different across the board. Examples: gang violence, hate-based violence (perhaps racist or homophobic etc), terrorism, domestic violence. If we want to tackle root causes behind all of it then we HAVE to categorise and act accordingly.

British MRAs are now whining that a campaign against domestic violence is sexist.

“A “mens’ rights” group have threatened to stage “guerilla-style” demonstrations against a domestic violence campaign they claim is sexist.

Northumbria Police’s new campaign urging women to report warning signs of domestic abuse ahead of a new law which will make “emotional and financial” abuse a criminal office has been deemed sexist by New Fathers 4 Justice.

The group has said the advert – which says certain behaviours like threatening to hurt children if a partner leaves or being nice to them so long as they do as they are told are abusive – suggests that domestic violence perpetrators are exclusively male. ”

That first one with the baseball theme is very unsettling. The father is the one at bat, completely ignoring his son standing behind him and apparently unconcerned that his boy is about to catch a pitch with his bare hands. Is the purpose to toughen him up and him strong against the onslaught of feminism by denying him a catcher’s mitt so that his fingers and hands will be repeatedly bruised and fractured?

So let me get this straight, MENS RIGHTS AND FATHERS FOR JUSTICE are whining about a campaign that helps women and girls and saying its sexist? Dang these a-holes are hypocritical. And they threatened them? And they wonder why women and girls need protection. They are seriously a bunch of terrorists.

Shorter MRA propaganda:

No, vaginas won’t give you superpowers! We hate them! Also, they’re the only thing about you we want anymore because feminism has ruined you, so give them to us NOW, bitches!

Consistency: try and find it.

@Fruitloopsie

Yeah I’m familiar with the MRA mantra about women at work. It’s just that the slogan is “Equal pay for equal work.” You’d think they’d agree.

But I’m sure if you asked them to define “equal work”, they’d do the same thing they do to feminists: “You’re not doing ALL the work! You’re not helping both women AND men! Therefore, you’re not a slave-driving, femmucommunazi who wants us all dead!”

That’s the whole thing with them. They don’t want “equal work” they want “women do all the work while I sit around and complain about the work they’re doing because women shouldn’t work and aren’t capable of doing work and how I could do it so much better because I’m a smart, strong man, even though I don’t lift a goddamned finger to help because women don’t deserve help”.

They don’t want to do the work. They want us to do it for them. And even if we did do it for them, they’d sit around and complain about what a shoddy job we supposedly did.

@HeinzD There seems to be a “moderate” MRA group in Canada called the Canadian Association for Equality (CAFE). The Canadian government granted CAFE charitable organization status and it appears that they’ve been working with Conservative MP’s and MPP’s. They’ve also been active in starting student clubs on Canadian college campuses (to the extent that a number of campuses banned Student Union-funded “men’s issues” clubs).

They claim to not be affiliated with A Voice for Men, but they’ve linked to AVfM and they’ve affiliated with other “radical” MRA’s like Karen Straughan.

Exactly. I was reading on against Mras on Reddit and even when feminists opened a male shelter they’re still complaining that it’s some sort of evil conspiracy to brain wash men and boys that it’s all their fault for getting hurt or something. If there is someone who is saying that to them then they are pieces of s*** who deserve to get fired.
It seems whatever we do its wrong.

Totally random but has anyone heard about the new black Hermoine in Harry Potter?

So awesome I can’t wait for more poc especially can’t wait for native Americans to be represented more.

And I find it baffling when we white people say “I don’t see color” but as soon poc are on the screen then it’s “now I see color and I’m angry”

Yeah, CAFE. David has some posts about them, like how one of their board members joined in harassing Jessica Valenti:

The tweet is gone now, so the page above has a dead link where the tweet was. But David usually archives them.

On a side note, am I the only one who wants that underwear?
