Today, a brief tour of the Pro-Male memes subreddit, a tiny spinoff of the also tiny ProMaleCollective subreddit, and home to a dissident faction of Men’s RIghtsers that has declared war not only on traditional lMRA targets like feminists but also on most MRAs, whom the Pro-Male dismiss as a bunch of tradcons (traditional conservatives) who don’t hate feminism as much as the Pro-Malers think they should.
But the Pro-Malers share one thing in common with the MRAs they so often target with their memes: they are absolutely terrible at making memes.
The memes in their subreddit are ugly, confusing, funny only to their creators, and in many cases nearly impossible to read. Most of the memes are posted with long titles, without which they make little sense. (I took a look at this subreddit some time ago, but the memes I’ve pasted on below are all different than the ones I included in that post.)
In the embedded posts below, the text atop the memes comes from the meme-posters; my own comments are bolded.)
So let’s take a look at a selection of memes.

Preaching to the converted:
Here, poor font choice leads to memes that are difficult to read without squinting, and which remind me that I really need to get new glasses.
The Pro-Malers have apparently declared war on proofreading.
Here they rage against something they consider a “cope” — MRAs dismissing feminists as ugly. Clearly, true Pro-Malers know that some feminists are smoking hot.
I’m not quite sure what’s going on in this meme, but apparently Pro-Malers love to masturbate. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
That’s all … for now.

They’ve never heard the aphorism “Brevity is the soul of wit”, have they?
Honestly the claim that “men have zero reproductive rights”, always makes me laugh.
The men who say this are literal children who don’t want to take responsibility by accessing g the choices available to them. That there are more options for women does not mean men have none.
(and Polonius meanders on for a while longer….)
That last one really confuses me, but at least it’s legible.
Eh. I am not going to sign in or up or whatever to view these, so I’m just going to roll my eyes and say “Bad memes is bad memes, no want”.
Why do they have Subaru from Re:Zero when his first season arc was him getting over himself and not acting entitled to women’s affections and ignoring Emelia’s explicitly expressed wishes?
@Ooglyboggles:
And “Do it for Her” references a show whose titular hero is a Magical Boy and Friend To All Living Things (and quotes a character whose culture has no concept of gender, teaching a female character to serve and protect him.)
Are “Cry Me A River Feminists” feminists who are really big fans of Justin Timberlake? That’s probably a niche group.
The one about what feminists really want: “Having more legal rights, less responsibilities, and complete social and cultural dominance over men.” Sounds like an admission of both knowledge of the problem and that the oppressors fear the oppressed will treat them exactly as they have been treated to me.
Luckily not everyone is an asshole like you, fella.

Are you confused by the picture or by the text ?
If this is the picture, i do not know if the character is famous in your country as he is in mine, but he is Ryô Saeba from City Hunter (called Nicky Larson long time ago in France, which was also the title of an movie adaptation made by Jacky Chan), from the mangaka Tsukasa Hôjô (that some may know from the manga Family Compo, about a transgender family).
The kind of people who made the meme usually see him as an Alpha Male, thus like someone they believe they are, missing totally the point of the author.
Men have zero reproductive rights?
Gentlemen, you clearly have just arrived on this planet, so I will point out your options: abstinence, masturbation, sex that doesn’t involve penis in vagina, pulling out before you orgasm, condoms, vasectomy, and a mutually agreed on method of birth control with your partner.
I can only see the top half of these on my phone without installing the Reddit ap (which isn’t happening). Although only the top half is still more than enough to appreciate their horribleness.
My grandmother makes better memes than this and she‘s dead.

As I recall from three-decades-ago anime club meetings (in the U.S.), Ryo Saeba was handsome, courageous, and a marksman of downright superheroic ability—but also a leering horndog who was forever getting his face slapped.

Maybe they’re concocted by people whose first language isn’t English? This is the impression I often get.
@bekabot
As a community college writing and composition teacher, many native English speakers suck at writing, especially when they’re trying to sound clever.
Honestly, these memes seem pretty par for the course, if my students are anything to go by….
I’ll remember that last one the next time some gun owner gets upset about their gun being called a penis substitute.
The one with white, tiny, all-caps text literally made my eyes hurt trying to read it. But “Aborion rights” made me laugh. Aborion sounds like some fantasy-land forest.
On a sadder note, I bet “zero reproductive rights” is being used to mean “men cannot dictate whether their pregnant partners will/won’t keep their pregnancy.” It makes no sense otherwise.
@ epitome of incomprehensibility
IIRC Borion are one of the big homeopathic or herbal woo companies, so I guess aborion would be some water that’s been shaken against a bible? Or some mixture of useless herbs ground up with a little viagra? Sounds about right
NOW you’re talking!

Yes, that is him.
The manga (and the anime serie) was alterning between his great abilities – presenting him as strong and reliable -, and his terrible lecherous behavior – making him the butt-monkey of other characters -. Some could say that presenting a sexperv in a humoristic way just tend to banalise it – and they are right on that -, but here it is done in an over-the-top (? i aim to mean “really exagerated”, is it a correct way to say it ?) way, that nobody in its right mind can consider this as a positive behavior.
Problem we had here with it, it is that the manga was intended for young adults – in the same way Hokuto no Ken was – in Japan, but it had been diffused to youngs here (was 11 or 12, i think) and that the anime version had been so redacted – both texts and pictures – that the over-the-top thing was toned down – when not entirely redacted -, and that only left the “tall strong handsome man who can be a pervert and that is ok because boys be boys” and all the shit we know are associated with this cliché. The only funny thing which remains from this time was the voice acting – cause the voice actors had understood that the original was not supposed to be for a young audience, and thus have not make it seriously – even if it was still professionally done.
I’m now picturing a whole MRA fantasy novel in which our brave hero Nonchad of House Manlet must go on a dangerous quest through the lands of Middle Gynocentros (including the dark forest of Aborion) to retrieve his jacked sperm from the clutches of evil Queen Misandria and her blue haired tattooed sorceresses before she can impregnate herself and enslave Nonchad into a lifetime of child support.
@wwth
Hey, it couldn’t be any worse than the “Liberty Adams” MAGA romance story.
I particularly like that percentage featuring multiple decimal points.
