Don Trump Jr. and Stefan Molyneux: Twitter buds?

By David Futrelle

Sunday night Donald Trump Jr. retweeted a transphobic tweet from someone long familiar to readers of this blog: the racist, woman-hating YouTube “philosopher” Stefan Molyneux, whom the Southern Poverty Law Center describes, accurately, as an “alleged cult leader who amplifies ‘scientific racism,’ eugenics and white supremacism to a massive … audience.”

Molyneux, who first caught my attention more than five years ago for his open and often quite extravagant misogyny, has now taken to advocating straight-up white nationalism, albeit in euphemistic terms. While he doesn’t spew slurs like some of his alt-right brethren, he talks endlessly about allegedly intractable racial differences in IQ.

In one recent tweet, he asserted that

the devolution of the US from an Enlightenment Republic to a semi-banana republic … has a lot to do with racialIQ demographics esp permanent low Hispanic IQ

He’s repeated his claims about “permanant low Hispanic IQ” numerous times.

He has similar feelings about sub-Saharan Africans. In one tweet he accused those he feels are “ginning up racial hatred” against whites in South Africa of potentially killing off everyone in that country because, in his imagined scenario, “the blacks will kill the whites and/or drive them off. Then the blacks will starve” because, with their “Avg IQ low 70s” they will be too stupid to survive on their own.

He has, well, interesting thoughts on white women who marry the descendants of sub-Saharan Africans:

https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1077314912102297600

And he has many other thoughts about the allegedly insidious effects of “racial IQ differences” on western — “white” — countries.

https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1078868440826314752
https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1088144875655065600

His now infamous take on the Iraq war is truly galaxy-brained:

https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1082489068741513217

And if you don’t believe him, he may just have to get out his calipers!

https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1071116953538809856

Molyneux is convinced that “[m]ass immigration from the third world” is causing “falling Western IQ,” along with many other social ills, and has repeatedly fellow whites about what he thinks is a vast conspiracy to “replace” western whites with brown people from poorer countries — directly echoing the rhetoric of the neo-Nazis chanting “you will not replace us” in Charlottesville.

https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/885197204532715521
https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1073098087306936320
https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1081991553525207040

He also frets aloud about what he sees as a terrible shortage of white babies:

https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1075166281634988032
https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1089415027214282754
https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1087808116735893504
https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1075771764876050434

He’s also indignant that people look askance at racists crowing about the alleged superiority of “white culture” — that is, white people.

But as shitty as his racism is, we shouldn’t forget that Molyneux, a self-described Men’s Rights Activist who was once a featured speaker at a convention organized by Men’s Rights hate site A Voice for Men, is also a huge misogynist.

Indeed, he has repeatedly argued that it is women who are ultimately responsible for all the evil in the world. Sure, he acknowledges, there are men who do evil things — but the blame for their evil, he thinks, should rest at the hands (and the vaginas) of the women who bore them and most likely raised them.

He spelled this out in some detail in a ranting video several years ago — arguing that if women didn’t choose shitty men to have children with the world would be a wonderful place.

Women who choose the assholes will … fucking end this human race. … Women who choose assholes guarantee child abuse. Women who choose assholes guarantee criminality, sociopathy. Politicians, all the cold-hearted jerks who run the world came out of the vaginas of women who married assholes.

And I don’t know how to make the world a better place without holding women accountable for choosing assholes. … Women … keep the evil of the species going by continually choosing these guys.

If being an asshole didn’t get women, there would be no assholes left. If women chose nice guys over assholes we would have a glorious and peaceful world in one generation. Women determine the personality traits of the men because women choose who to have sex with, and who to have children with, and who to expose those children to. …

Stop fucking monsters and we get a great world. Keep fucking monsters, we get catastrophes, we get war, we get nuclear weapons, we get national debt, we get incarcerations … Women worship at the feet of the devil and wonder why the world is evil.

He’s still holding women responsible for all the problems in the world — and all the evil that men do.

https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1129586168088211461
https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1048618488128921602

It goes without saying that Molyneux is not a fan of feminism:

https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/961692908574343168
https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/929772159307862016

He also seems, well, a little bit uncomfortable with the fact that women have the right to vote.

https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1129022959220330496
https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1059822527822802945

As it turns out, he’s got a lot of advice for the ladies:

https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/1099386771689951232
https://twitter.com/StefanMolyneux/status/974377252212346880

I dunno, that last one seems less like a warning and more like an incentive plan. (Does Stefan even know what cats are? Has he seen their gifs?)

But the sheer absurdity of many of Molyneux’s claims shouldn’t obscure the very real hatred and bigotry underlying them.

Which raises the question: How is it that the adult son of the president, heavily involved in his father’s political and business life, is even seeing Molyneux in his Twitter feed, much less using his own Twitter account — with its 3.6 million followers, at least some of whom are not bots — to amplify his voice (and not for the first time)?

Well, that would be the question if Don Jr’s last name were anything but “Trump” and if we lived in normal political times. These days, with Trump Sr. himself retweeting QAnon conspiracy theorists, Don Jr’s retweets of the racist, misogynistic, and just plain idiotic Molyneux are just par for the course.

Wow, i know that i am a foreigner, but to me, this sentence does not mean anything (except maybe that women play some videogames where they can choose perks for some male charaters). Does he mean that men are so feeble that it is women who give them personality traits ? Or that only the women define the personality traits on a generic social basis associated to acceptable persons they could potentially wish to mate with (while it is well known that men never had physical and mental criteria in that domain, and that, as an example, the “no fat girl” claim is obviously part of some feminist psyop conspirationist cabal) ?

He thinks personality traits are genetic. Therefore, women determine the personality of the next generation by choosing which men they sleep with in this generation.

Speaking of Jordan Peterson, I was in a somewhat related topic of debate recently with a fanboy who defended Peterson’s alt-right buzzwords by saying he couldn’t possibly be friendly with their movement because of a video where he said ranking race by IQ was “tricky” and that “Ashkenazi Jews have the highest IQ.” and if Peterson said a nice thing about Jews, he couldn’t possibly be pandering to the alt right!

After explaining the enormous difference between cultural emphasis on academic rigor and inherent intelligence, I had to point out that theory was popularized by Kevin MacDonald, another former evolutionary psychology professor who now writes and edits the white nationalist publication, Occidental Quarterly. The rest of this warm and fuzzy sounding goes that Jews achieved this by practicing positive eugenics as an evolutionary strategy to enhance their ability to out-compete gentiles for resources (citing the accusations from the middle ages as well) and that part of their Jew-y scheme to prevent others from horning in on their action by deliberately sabotaging their gene pool by supporting progressive politics like immigration and interracial marriage out of “hatred and hostility toward American Christian culture”.

Also, I’ve noticed the comments section on Jordan Peterson’s private website has (((a whole lot of these))).

Apparently I have a hard time reading the name “Don Jr.”. My brain keeps parsing that as “Dr. Jon”.

The thing people like Molyneux don’t seem to realize is that someone isn’t an asshole because one or more of their progenitors was an asshole. Sometimes they’re an asshole just because they’re an asshole. That’s true for racists, it’s true for misogynists, and it’s true for people who park in accessible parking spaces without a permit.

Now, I obviously can’t prove that Don Jr. or Stephan Molyneux does that last bit, but I also can’t prove that they don’t.

Man, Stefan Molyneux reminds me a lot of the verbose “race/IQ” dipshits I encountered on the DeviantART politics forums back in the mid 2000s that spammed essay-length posts about Philippe Rushton and Charles Murray, clearly trying to provoke a “battle of ideas”, only to be immediately either smacked down by a moderator or by the same guy who showed up with the Halford Fairchild study that all but spelled out “Rushton is a goddamned quack and the recurring embarrassment that the University of Western Ontario keeps trying to shove back into their basement with minimal success” and the thread would quickly die and be buried.

This is what kinda disheartens me. I’ve seen this movie before on a smaller screen. But now that it’s on a big screen like Twitter or YouTube and there’s no DA mods to close the thread or remove the video, the guy with the Fairchild study can’t make himself heard over the umpteen hundred alt-right fanboys. The platforms only validate the echo-chambers, so a whole bunch of kids half my age are watching this as if it’s all brand new and I’m sitting there like “What the–? This is rehash of the same stuff I saw more than a decade ago!” I get that the constant information stream has a nasty habit of starving people of memory, but it really wouldn’t take much searching to find the contemporary arguments that were being leveled against Murray or Rushton back in the 90s.

There was an interesting breakdown of Dave Rubin that I saw on YouTube by user timbah.on.toast, who pointed out that Dave’s obviously facile interviewing style and platforming of assclowns like Molyneux who style themselves as having some kind of super-special brain-genius insight that “the PC powers that be” won’t allow to be talked about is really seductive because every clip is specifically constructed to reinforce that message: “You’re the secret genius. You’re the rational one. It didn’t take a degree or opening a textbook, you proved your smartness by watching Stefan Molyneux, the modern-day Galileo, stand up to those blue-haired PC brigade religious screamers.” And that’s really all it takes, especially for their base of NEETs who either can’t afford school or couldn’t hack it for one reason or another and spend all their time watching 6 hour reactionary streams.

Kinda OT, but in the wake of all that bullshit, I had to remind myself what real history and real knowledge was, so I went to Fort York National Historic Site on Sunday morning to appreciate where Toronto started from and I gotta say it was a surreal experience. I wish I had the photos of my camera to show non-Torontonians what it looks like, but it’s like this little pocket of a half-dozen 200 year-old wooden and brick blockhouses bounded by concrete slabs of the Gardiner Expressway to the south, about seven or eight railway lines to the north, the still-under-construction towers of CityPlace to the east and the now-heavily gentrified Liberty Village to the west. It’s almost like this little blemish of history on a Lake Shore that’s being gradually consumed by its own hipsterness, all of its 19th-century cannons pointed out towards condos and Starbucks. Even the Fort York Barracks, a functional army base next door to the historic Fort, seems out of place as the decommissioned mobile infantry vehicle from Afghanistan out front takes aim at the Princes Gates.

Adding to the surreal nature of the trip was exactly who was out and about on a Sunday morning. It was fairly quiet at 9:30AM, but as I was trying to photograph the regimental badges carved into the Armory’s facade from the sidewalk, I had to dodge two dog-walkers and a jogger.

The area underneath the Gardiner Expressway had been totally revamped since I was last at Fort York a couple years ago. It’s now an urban park called The Bentway and as much as I hate to admit it, it’s kinda emblematic of the pseudo-woke quasi-progressivism that these neighbourhoods are starting to embody: sterile concrete decorated with the appropriated art of the underclasses (a shipping container opens up to reflect the newfound life of trafficked immigrants, protest art from aboriginal artists is pasted to the cement supports) where yuppies can bike and skate and eat dinner in a bubble while feeling “enlightened” by their “concern” for those struggling safely out of earshot.

Construction of The Bentway isn’t complete, so it’s possible it won’t remain this sterile, but as much as it’s claimed it’s an urban park meant for everybody, it won’t be “everybody” using it. The gentrification of Toronto’s waterfront has been ongoing for at least a decade or two and shows no signs of stopping.

Although apparently it has issues with coyotes. Seriously, one of the Fort York cannons next to the railroad tracks had a sign saying “Don’t go past here, there be coyotes!” They were not kidding. I looked past the cannon’s emplacement and saw one sitting in the grass next to the railway’s chainlink fence.

TL;DR — Gentrification sucks and does weird to neighbourhoods. Coyotes are cute, but it’s best not to approach ’em.

Judging people by IQ tests is hilarious. Someone can be low intelligence for not knowing that talkative::loquacious because English isn’t one of the 5 languages they know.

The only time I had a professionally administered IQ test, at around thirteen, I suspect I gained a point or two thanks to a lucky guess as to what “carcinogenic” meant.

(I looked it up afterwards as soon as I got the chance.)

Don’t you love how white genocide is “Satanic”?

Yep. The ancient fallen angel, the Prince of Darkness, the Father of Lies… is mainly concerned with eliminating the white race (totally a real thing that objectively exists).

Can you imagine being this self-centred? Thinking that the main goal of the primordial cosmic evil entity is to get rid of your minority subgroup of humans? Wow, Mr. Molyneux, you sure are speshul…

First of all I’m looking forward to my promised kingdom of cats, just have to figure out what to do with my husband.
Second, trying to follow Molyneux’s logic, if women get all the blame for bad things produced by men in the developed world hey should also should get all the credit for the science, technology and art produced in the developed world. Think about it, in the third worlds that so terrify Molyneux men often make marriage and breeding decisions.

Firstly, when am I getting all these cats? Although, to be fair, I haven’t had lots of men, so maybe I get canaries instead?

Also, I take a great deal of pleasure in knowing that my complete lack of interest in reproducing would cause Stevie here to foam at the mouth with frustration.

I took a professionally administered WAIS-III; and scored 67.

What that proves about the validity of IQ tests is left as an exercise for the reader.

Definately doing the men for cats deal.

One of my current kitty’s nicknames is “Upgrade” because near the end of my marriage when things were really crappy I told a friend “At this point I’d trade him in for a cat and consider it an upgrade.” And I did. He’s a much nicer bed partner and more kind and supportive than the ex was, and he’s actually a pretty crusty kitty.

How is it that the adult son of the president, heavily involved in his father’s political and business life, is even seeing Molyneux in his Twitter feed

As has often been said of Don Jr., the douche doesn’t fall far from the bag.

Those first several tweets, holy moly. I think I could get the same effect from having someone play a Charlie Brown Teacher trombone into my left ear, and someone else randomly shouting “IQ! IQ! IQ!” into my right ear.

If being an asshole didn’t get women, there would be no assholes left. If women chose nice guys over assholes we would have a glorious and peaceful world in one generation.

One of my nastiest childhood bullies had two parents who were as sweet and loving as could be. I knew lots of other kids who were nice despite coming from chaotic and abusive households. Assholing isn’t genetic. It’s situational. Plenty of bullies are polite to teachers and nice to their girlfriends and buddies, while doling out wedgies and shoving people into lockers. Plenty of decent men aren’t kindly disposed towards racist misogynists like Molyneux.

“Asshole” comes in degrees. It’s mainly a function of how large the circle is of people that you’re willing to be nice to. In Molyneux’s case that circle is vanishingly small.

Ladies; your youth and beauty exist to get you a good man

I’m afraid I’ll have to disagree here. My youth existed in order for me to eat fudgsicles and listen to disco music.

If we had been allowed to talk about race and IQ, the invasion of Iraq would never have occurred, because no one would have been under the illusion that a Jeffersonian Republic was going to emerge from a population with an IQ in the 80s.

Iraq/Mesopotamia brought us agriculture, algebra, syringes, boats, maps, written law, robots, pediatrics, writing, and perfume. That’s quite a lot for a population with “an IQ in the 80s”.

When did this great dumbing down happen? Is he saying the average IQ of the country dropped when Americans invaded?

In America, fewer than 10% of Hispanics have graduated from college with a bachelors degree.

In California, a THIRD of Mexican-American males aged 18 to 24 say they have been arrested, and one in five has been jailed.

Poverty, racism, unequal justice, underfunded schools, and lack of opportunity are horribly predictable.

Yeah, it was probably around the time that Twitter started that I stopped going to the DA Forums to sound off on politics. The people who did all that inventing probably would’ve done well to score any points at all on an IQ test, even if the language barrier were dealt with. OTOH, Stefan Molyneux, given nothing but the language and dropped in bronze-age Mesopotamia would be doing well to manage to become a peasant farmer instead of a corpse, so, yanno.

That “cats for men” stuff sounds like a sweet deal. Imagine someone being so self-centered and lacking in self-awareness that they see cats as a substitute for male attention.

I must say, my husband was a little jealous of my very Chadly cat, Roscoe. He used to say that Roscoe got more attention than he did.

Remember ladies, the price of a lot of men when you are young is a lot of cats when you are old.

I pay for my youthful exploits in cats?

Glad to know that other Mammotheers have been thinking about this issue.

I’m wondering if there is a 1:1 ratio. For example, if I’ve had 15 lovers would I have 15 cats once my sexual hijinks are over and done with? Would I have 15 cats over my lifetime? Over the lifetime of the cats? Or maybe over Stefan M’s lifetime?

Am I limited to 15 cats?

Wait — Stefan says “a lot.” Now I’m even more confused. Mr. M. might think that two lovers is a lot. Would I be limited to two cats over my entire lifetime if I’ve had only two lovers? That seems unnecessarily cruel — even for a Nazi.
