Mocking Mike Pence’s lady dining rule is “an attack on White Marriage,” Alt-Rightist insists

Mike Pence: 100% sexy, or just 99?

Most of us have moved on from that whole “Mike Pence refuses to go to dinner alone with women other than his wife because he’s apparently afraid they might end up doing it on the table right there next to the Crispy Shrimp Lettuce Wraps.”

But the internet Nazis over on AltRight.com are still plenty mad — not at Pence or his little rule, but at those in the “Lügenpresse” who made fun of it (or pointed out that such a rule systematically disadvantages women in business). As AltRight.com’s  Kate Bernard sees it,  the criticism of Pence in the press and online was an underhanded attack on white people.

This example of solidarity between Whites called for a coordinated psychological assault on our sexual ethics. A powerful White man with a stable marriage is an indigestible quantity. Any union between Whites, including the private one between a man and a woman, is a possible threat to the neoliberal order.

I mean, who else but an evil hater of all things white could possibly Tweet something like this?

https://twitter.com/Vectorpark/status/847454910983454720

Or this?

https://twitter.com/Home_Halfway/status/847827749444231172

(He calls his wife “mother,” you see.)

Or this?

Or even this?

Ok, that last one has nothing to do with Pence. It’s just a really funny video.

Anyway, Ms. Bernard is sick of your anti-white tomfoolery:

Beneath the apparent absurdity of the media reactions is a deadly serious hostility to the foundation of our resistance to our dispossession and historical erasure — the love of one’s own. Our decency frightens our enemies because of its metapolitical implications.

Yeah, I don’t think the issue here is “decency.” It’s that Pence and his fans seem to think that heterosexual men and women can’t get together to talk about the state of the Penguin Boiling Vat industry (or whatever it is they do for a living) without being overcome by carnal lust.

Is Pence truly too sexy for the dinner table? Millions of men and women regularly eat in public with representatives of the gender or genders they find sexually attractive and aren’t overcome by their uncontrollable passions. Because passions aren’t actually uncontrollable, for one thing.

But I have to give Ms. Benard some credit for her, er, lively prose. At one point, she attacks Stephen Colbert for making a joke about Pence, first describing him as “characteristically over-animated but dead-eyed behind his Communist glasses,” before declaring that his eyes were “wide with Botox and aggression.”

So were his eyes “dead” or were they “wide” and aggressive? Or can he switch back and forth at will? And what does Botox have to do with it?

Ms. Bernard offers no answers to these questions, but she is pretty sure WHY Colbert unleashed his dastardly jokes:

Transient commissars like Colbert attack the love stories of our people because marriage is the foundational White institution upon which all other White institutions are built.

Bernard proudly declares that proud whities like her are “beyond [the] reach” of people like Colbert trying “to corrupt,” then dials her purple prose up to 11 for an energetic if not always coherent finale:

The oaths we make to one another insures our impudence to survive and our mirth in the face of the abyss that the left insists is our destiny. We will continue to realize the promise of generativity hinted in the first simpers of courtship, and we will continue to envision a dawn of our own making. There is nothing more blithe for our morale, nor grave for our enemies, than the love between our people. Out of love for our people, we will strive and sacrifice. We will not rest until we have secured a future for white children. Love is indeed, reactionary.

The real question I am left with is why the hell do so many reactionaries write like this? I mean, Jeez, put away that thesaurus before you hurt someone.

David, in the OP, said

…Jeez, put away that thesaurus before you hurt someone.

Too late. The English language is smarting from that blow and I’m pretty sure it’s gonna leave a mark. That’s not even counting the considerable confusion those paragraphs will cause.

I think Kate Bernard’s misuse and torment of that poor, innocent thesaurus warrant the calling in of the rhetorical SWAT team to rescue it.

@Humbug:

Well, the stuff that is getting censored are all 2-D fictional while the stuff that leftists helped to proliferate are all 3-d live action.

OH MY GOD. LOOK. Look. Please, look. 2D and 3D animation mean Very. Specific. Things. I get that it’s kind of confusing, because now a lot of 2D is created on computers, but please try and follow me here.

2D art is drawn. It might be drawn on paper, copied onto cells, painted, then photographed in a very complicated and calculated way to create the illusion of movement. This is how your old school cartoons were done, like Disney animation, Looney Tunes, Fleischer Studios.

Eventually, Disney decided to try photocopying the animation directly onto cells, eliminating part of the ink and paint job. That’s why 101 dalmatians looks the way it does.

(sorry this is all pretty disney specific, that’s what I know best…)

The Little Mermaid was the last Disney film done with cels. After that, I’m assuming it was cleaned up on paper, then scanned into a computer and coloured. I can’t find anything to link on that quickly though, sorry.

Now we’ve moved into 2D being done on computers. That does NOT make it 3D, it makes it 2D on computers.

2D now has a few different forms it can take. It can still be completely hand drawn, scanned, then cleaned up and coloured in computers. It can be completely drawn in computers using magic devices called Cintiqs. (I love them.) It can also be made using things called ‘rigs’, which range from being simple Flash symbol puppets* to more complicated rigs for programs like Harmony.

More modern examples of 2D on computers include things like Lion Guard, which is a show done with some really elaborate 2D rigs in Harmony. Each line is a deformer, which means that a) I don’t know how Harmony runs with multiple characters and B) you can adjust each line.

You also get shows that are a mix of rigs and drawing, like Pig Goat Banana Cricket (here’s an example of that show).

In rigged animation, you’re basically manipulating a bunch of cut-out pieces to make it move. You can get some super great animation out of it (if you have the time and the budget) as well as some more limited stuff (when you don’t have the time or budget).

Compare something like Ever After High (done with character rigs and hand drawn 2D FX in Harmony and composited in Nuke) with a large budget and done in North America with something like Monster High, which was (I believe) done in Flash.

All of this is done on computers, and IS 2D. The drawings are flat. If you’re lucky enough to be working in a program with a functional 3D option (SO NOT YOU FLASH) and you spin the art, it will be like moving a piece of paper, completely flat.

3D, on the other hand, is done with something that is modeled in 3D space, rigged, then animated in 3D space. In 2D rigged animation, you can break the heck out of those rigs. If you’re working either in Flash or with a fairly uncomplicated open Harmony rig, you can just do whatever you want.** If you have a more complicated rig, you need to understand how it works, but then just break it for your scene so it works for that.

In 3D, you can NOT break the rigs. Each rig is linked to the master file (as I understand it) so if they update something in the rig to fix a problem, it automatically updates in your scenes. Not so in any 2D program I’m aware of. So you better hope you have good riggers who’ve rigged in everything you’re going to need to do, otherwise you need to cheat, or get them to do something special for you.

If you rotate a 3D model, it will not be flat, but rather 3D. It usually lives in 3D space, and you can tumble everything around.

Pixar’s films are in 3D. New Disney films are 3D. Mass Effect is 3D. Call of Duty is 3D. Most video games are 3D.

So to get back to the quote:

Well, the stuff that is getting censored are all 2-D fictional while the stuff that leftists helped to proliferate are all 3-d live action.

NO. Video games are 3D, unless you’re talking about something like Stardew Valley, which would be 2D. Live action is NOT 3D, it is live action. You can see films *in* 3D, but that still doesn’t make this statement make sense.

*This tutorial talks about moving the pivot points. NO. Do NOT do that, those will be reset. What you need to do is go into the symbol, and move the art so that it is lined up with the origin point, which is the little plus sign. That way the pivot point is where you want it. You can move it (if you need to) and then reset it, and it will be in the right spot. This video talks about this a little more clearly, and also just introduced me to a plug in I’m going to see if I can install! 😀

**Open rigs are NOT more advanced than Hierarchy rigs. Each has their purpose, and understanding what will work best for your production is the most important thing.

I mean this:

The Full Hierarchy technique is not recommended since it gives less freedom to the animator. Use this technique only if you need to produce a very long and fast animation in a short amount of time. This means about 3 to 4 minutes of animation per animator per week. Obviously, we are not talking about a high quality animation here.

Is bullshit. (See the Ever After High and Lion Guard examples above.)

TEEL DEEEER, but @humbug, do you see how I tried to link to everything someone might not be familiar with? This is how you source stuff. So your claim from the last thread about ladies? This is how you should have sourced it.

@ Humbug

So, where does trump’s “Access Hollywood” rant fit into your view of the political left’s responsibility for the world’s ills? Or Newt Gingrich asking his dying wife for a divorce so he can marry his latest fling? Hell, even the god-king Reagan was divorced (note, I don’t consider divorce to be negative, but th’ bug apparently does). The idea that powerful people, overwhelmingly men, automatically have access to the bodies of others to use for their gratification is waaayyyy older than what you call ‘the left”.

Your analysis sounds like the xian fundamentalism of my childhood church… everything the church doesn’t like is demonic, and those practicing it are demonized except when it’s someone the church likes or needs, then they were seduced by the world, tempted by the devil, corrupted by the serpent of woman… or, the fave of modern right-wingers defending their fallen heroes, they didn’t really do it…. The accusers are lying, the evidence was fabricated, they were set up….

Just tell the fucking truth, Bumbug, if someone conservative christian right-wing republican does it, IT IS REALLY OK… it’s only degeneracy when the leftists have sex.

@IP: Congratulations and both your kitties are adorable. I showed them to my grumpy black and white one trying to lay all over my laptop keyboard and he yawned and licked my finger.

@leftwingfox: Interesting article, my mum was born in 1950, went to university when she was 17 because her boarding school education got her there a year early. She was at a major UK university which was a notorious hotbed of leftwing activism and in many ways was and still is the acrhetypal hippy. But all she say about the so-called “free love” era was that for the women, it was never for free and seems rather bitter about that aspect of it. And she ended up married at 20 to my father of the same age, for nearly twenty years. So hardly a pair of libertines there.

Hmmm, yes, the “healthy” sexuality of the leftists

Some of it’s healthy, some of it isn’t. However, the repressive attitude favored by much of the right…isn’t

that has now blighted and cursed the Contemporary West

Curses!

with ever-rising divorce and single-parent rates

You are about thirty years out of date on that one

ever-falling birth and two-parent family rates,

Birth rates are pretty low for a number of reasons, yes. Is that a “bight on the contemporary west”? Uh, whatever.

the “pansexual orgy commune” environment that led to the AIDS epidemic in the West

The AIDS epidemic was caused by the emergence of a new virus. Had it emerged in the 1940’s it would have caused an epidemic then. AIDS spread like wildfire through many parts of Africa, for example, and that was not due to leftist sexual permissiveness.

Also enabled the crimes of such libertines as Polanski and Cosby

You mean to say the phenomenon of powerful men using their power to force themselves on women with less power was invented in the 1960’s? Uh…no. Just no. Read your history.

such decadence that the Abrahamic bible claims caused the purging of Sodom and Gahmorrah, and history teaches led to the fall of the Roman Empire.

Uh…correction: I should say, read a more accurate history than “your” history (whatever you have been reading). You do know, don’t you, that the (Western) Roman Empire fell after converting to Christianity? Is that when it became too debauched to survive against the pagan hordes?

And the great sack of Rome in 410 was when it fell to the Visigoths… who were also Christian. (Granted, at the time I believe they were Arian rather than the Nicene/Trinitarian that the Roman Empire itself practised.)

Bah!

Was it not the Left who created and celebrated the permissive culture of female sexual liberation ,

What ‘Left” are you referring to?

of which celebrity groupies are an inevitable by-product,

Celebrity groupies are the by-product of a male-dominated celebrity culture, not women’s sexual liberation

that allowed males such as Polanski and Cosby to believe that they could do whatever they wanted and get away with it ?

So…women try to find work in the entertainment industry, and are coerced into having sex by slimeballs with power in the industry, and this is somehow the fault of “female sexual liberation”?

How about we deal with male dominance of the entertainment industry and the fact that in our society powerful men of whatever ideological persuasion (including the current President) can usually get away with sexual assault?

Interesting, I did not know that, but a quick bit of research confirms that they had, in fact, recently converted to an Arian variant of Christianity that differed from the “orthodox” version the Empire practiced.
