This whole “mocking misogyny” thing? Apparently we’re doing it all wrong. Over on Reddit’s Men’s Rights Subreddit, jmnzz has helpfully explained what misogyny is, and what it isn’t.
Misogyny: The hatred of women
Not misogyny: Bad taste jokes about rape/abuse/etc. Logic. Counterarguments. Disagreements. Harsh language. Saying cunt. Saying bitch. Calling women names. Being pro-life. Calling every woman who accuses a man of rape a liar.
Why are none of these things misogyny? Because you do not have to hate women to do any or all of these things. You might, but not everyone who does them hate women.
Seriously. What on earth is misogynist about calling all the fucking cunts who accuse men of rape of being goddamn lying bitches? When guys call women lying whores, they do it out of love.
But hey, in all seriousness, I have to give Maggie props here for actually raising the issue of misogyny in r/mensrights.

I’m trying to avoid being Arcee which I know is the logical choice for me just cuz I never liked the idea of having female transformers (as much as I like Arcee xD ) b/c it means that the Transformers are male rather than agender (which they are supposed to be) xD They make this even worse in the comics where they say that the Transformers DON’T have gender (the male pronouns are supposed to be default I guess) EXCEPT Arcee cuz zie was the product of an experiment to “introduce gender” into the Transformers which I guess means making one appear humanoid female *rolls eyes* and they give zir trauma (from the process and being violated) and basically gender dysphoria too where zie hates everybody calling zir female pronouns (they are programmed to do so around zir)… -_-;;
I did like her in the movie though xD

Fair enough! I’m no Transformer expert, but I honestly couldn’t tell those damn Bay versions apart to save my life. I’ll admit that trolls like DKM and MRAL, while not likeable, are at least distinctive. Can Brandon and Ashley be the human dude and girl respectively? They are truly cardboard cutouts.
You know, as much as I can’t stand Shia LeBouf as an actor, he does deserve better than being compared to Brandon.
Also G1 has plenty of incoherence and nonsense to allow for the trolls. REally, every generation does.

Oh, man, the Season One trolls. Cold was responsible for one my favorite lines ever, when he bragged about how great his life was by saying he was about to enjoy an ice-cold Pepsi. Something about that charmed the heck out of me.
