So I’m back. Again. Hello!
I’ve kind of been in hiding for a while. But no more.
Here’s the thing. The thing is Trump. When Trump was elected again back in November I fell into a deep funk for several months, feeling unable to respond. I retreated from the world, from social media, and from my recently relaunched YouTube channel. When he took power in January, I felt utterly overwhelmed by the speed and audacity with which he transformed himself into a no-longer-aspiring dictator. And I was demoralized by the pathetic non-response of the Democrats and the lack of widespread public opposition. I was too depressed and worried to even engage with the news on a daily basis.
But over the last several weeks, something has changed in me. The “Hands Off” protests on April 6 rekindled hope that a real opposition to Trump could emerge. Then Trump’s tariffs sent the country (and quite possibly the whole world) into a strange and surreal crisis. And then things somehow got even worse. I realized that shutting down was no longer an option; I need to do what I can to stand up to Trump and to the culture that brought him into office for a second time. And the best way I have of doing that is by restarting the blog, offering analysis and engaging with readers as alarmed by our current situation as I am.
The blog will be a bit different than it was in its last incarnation. Instead of focusing mostly on daily “reaction” posts to terrible manosphere crap–the sort of thing that burned me out the first time–I’ll be posting mostly longer and more analytical pieces, hopefully several times a week, on broader issues relating to misogyny and gender issues that help to explain our current climate. (No more posts on the floridly hateful commentary of individual assholes on Incels.is; I think we’ve seen enough of those.) I will also be posting, at least for a while, reviews of books and other resources that can help us to understand what got this country into this mess and what we can do about it.
As for my temporarily paused YouTube channel, I do intend to return to it, though I may change the format a little in a way that I think will make the videos both easier to make and more engaging. And with fewer of the flashy glitchy cuts that I don’t think anyone liked as much as I did.
Stay tuned for the first posts on the new(est) We Hunted the Mammoth!

Thank you! It was a popular choice.
Could have done with your naming skills. Got to play with baby rescue goats. So that made my weekend. But we were struggling a bit for names.
However…please meet Hermione, Sherlock, and Rosie.

Welcome back, you have been so missed.
Welcome back David.
Hi All
Can I just take this opportunity to plug Charlotte’s new book?
See the linked article.
But I’m meeting up with her soon so if you all buy her book she can get the drinks in.

I did enjoy the flashy glitch cuts.
David will you still cover events such as Trump going out of his way to protect Andrew Tate?
Oogly, I think it’s a bit late to cover that, but I will definitely write about Andrew Tate and will certainly discuss Trump’s support for him when I do.
The Tate bros were meant to be back in court in Romania on Friday last; but I haven’t seen anything about the hearing. It was just a routine interim one though.
