Convicted sex offender and former A Voice for Men staffer Nicholas Alahverdian faces three new accusations of sexual assault

The last time we reported on the strange tale of convicted sex offender and former A Voice for Men staffer Nicholas Alahverdian, he was in Scotland awaiting extradition to the US on sexual assault charges in Utah. He was also telling whoever would listen — in a fake posh English accent — that he wasn’t Nicholas Alahverdian at all but rather a professor from Bristol, England named Arthur Knight, a victim of mistaken identity.

Well, a lot of things have happened since them, none of them good for poor Dr. Knight Nicholas Alahverdian, now sitting in a Glasgow jail awaiting extradition. Let’s just go through some of them.

Alahverdian’s claim to be not-Alahverdian has been conclusively refuted, as “Dr. Knight’s” fingerprints turn out to match those taken earlier from Alahverdian, who had faked his own death and taken on several new identities in various places in the UK and Ireland. He still seems to be referring to himself as Knight, but in the real world this particular jig is up.

He’s been charged with two more counts of sexual assault by prosecutors in Utah after several more woman came forward with similar stories of sexual assault at the hands of Alahverdian. That makes three women in total — in Utah. Alahverdian has also been accused of, if not yet charged with, sexual assault and other crimes in three other states. He was previously convicted of sexual assault in Ohio. All in all, he has allegedly attacked eight different women.

Last week, he was found guilty of “threatening and abusive behavior” against hospital staffers, who fled his hospital room in terror when he jumped out of bed and chased after them, screaming “whore” and “slut” after they told him he was going to be released from the hospital as doctors there couldn’t find anything wrong with him.

Did I mention that he has been claiming to be an invalid who requires an oxygen tank and a wheelchair? I guess that lie has been busted as well.

A woman in England has come forward with accusations of rape at the hands of Alahverdian, briefly her boyfriend back in 2017. She says that their 5-month relationship was turbulent and that he is a “serial liar” and “master manipulator” who has perfected the art of playing the victim while victimizing others.

The Ohio woman sexually assaulted by Alahverdian back in 2008 has spoken to a newspaper to tell her story of the five-year campaign of abuse he inflicted on her — ultimately with the help of A Voice for Men — after he was convicted of assaulting her in a hallway. She told the Daily Record that “[t]he attack in the hallway was nothing compared to years of being dragged through the mud.”

I can’t help but wondering how many more accusers may emerge before this sordid story reaches its conclusion, hopefully with Alahverdian in prison for a long time.

If you find any of the above details confusing, sorry! It’s a very confusing story. I’d recommend taking a look at my two previous posts on the case and, for more details, Alahverdian’s Wikipedia page.

Arthur Knight, huh? As in King Arthur? As in “white knight,” which MRAs yammer about a lot? (A white knight is a man who defends a woman.)

I guess he thought that with such a virtuous name, no jury would convict him.

I have a strong feeling I’ll be watching a Netflix documentary about this one day.

@LollyPop

I’d be fascinated to see what Netflix would make of the men’s rights movement.

It’s their audacity that gets me. I hope he never has another day of freedom.

This guy sounds like a sociopath. At least he’s been caught.

“I am so Arthur Knight! Ask my friends Wilhelm Kaiser, Musashi Samurai, Henry King and Davis Ahr… darn.”

Sorry, I have to make jokes about the idiotic name choice, because the alligations are so rancid.

@Kat

Me too! They have a really reliably gripping documentary format that which I think would suit an exploration of the pioneering (in the worst sense) personalities in that movement – especially the early A Voice for Men days.

The way pop culture goes, wouldn’t there be a chance they would seek to make the MRAs relatable and sympathetic villains? (Full disclosure: I don’t have Netflicks and don’t usually watch documentaries.)

@Amadaun: Hardbound and the Braille edition! THREE COPIES!

Do they still make the multivolume hardback OED? Because there are a whole lot of words he doesn’t understand.

OT — but it’s about Brad Pitt, the idol of every woman, a gorgeous hunk that we’ll forgive for anything at all, at least according to the manosphere. Or is Brad Pitt their singular decades-long target because, in addition to his good looks, manospherians can reliably spell his name? (Matthew McConaughey? Pierce Brosnan? Idris Elba? Timothée Chalamet? Step aside, guys. The manospherians have no interest in you.)

@Kat: Brad never did much for me even in his young and hot days. So no, I ain’t forgiving him now. Wiki says he’s 58, so maybe the manosphere could find someone else to hold up — the kids these days think he’s oooollllld.

The other gents you listed still grab my attention, and always have. Timothée is a bit young for me, but he sure is pretty to look at. Pierce is 69 and a silver fox, and he was James Bond, who I’d say is the primo example of alpha men.

How odd! I am, after nearly a year of keeping at it, nearing the end of Infinite Jest, meaning I have less than 150 pages to go! Plus footnotes.

I was obviously referencing Monty Python, though. As I am sure you already knew.

This guy’s complete divorce from reality—his ability to double, triple, quadruple+++ down on massive, elaborate falsehoods—reminds me of other narcissists that have been in the public eye in recent years.

I have to wonder about the poor Scottish woman who married him, too. I assumed that his supposed anonymous widow in Rhode Island was a sock puppet, but could she have been real, too?

Also, I wonder how he got into Scotland. Did he have a false passport?

At this point I think the only thing he hasn’t been charged with is first degree murder…but that might be just around the corner.

if anyone’s interested there’s an episode of the podcast “Swindled” on this guy, I got through about an hour before realizing I had read about him here lol, believe it came out June 5th so these most recent allegations may not be covered. I also highly recommend the podcast itself, it’s about white collar crime cases and covers a lot of corporate crimes and individual conmen
